Recent Press Release:
March 5, 2010 Hello, I want to let you all know that this coming Tuesday the 9th is a great opportunity for a story tying this local project to national and global issues. We are hosting an electric bike expose with the Green Riders (www.thegreenriders.org) a brother and sister team that are leaving on April 22 (Earth Day) on a cross country electric bicycle ride all the way to Washington DC. The ride will visit and highlight many important sustainability and green energy projects along the way. Our very own Director, Spokey Godfrey, will be riding with them from here to Flagstaff, Arizona on a bike we built at The Bicycle Works. All three electric bikes will be on display this Tuesday from 2pm-4pm along with the riders, supporters, the Bicycle Works staff and volunteers and other interested community members. This event will offer many good opportunities for interviews and pictures and ties directly to the larger issues of transportation, climate change, green jobs and the economy. We are also hosting a send off party on April 17th. The ride leaves from Palo Alto on April 22. |
